Clean Water & Sanitation

Clean Water & Sanitation

HMSA Care Foundation’s Clean Water & Sanitation Program is committed to providing safe, accessible, and sustainable water sources and sanitation facilities to underserved communities. Clean water and proper hygiene are not luxuries—they are basic human rights essential for good health, dignity, and development.

This program focuses on installing water purification systems, constructing wells and boreholes, and developing rainwater harvesting structures in areas where access to clean drinking water is limited. We also build toilets and sanitation units in public places, schools, and households, especially in rural regions, to promote hygiene and reduce waterborne diseases.

Beyond infrastructure, the program emphasizes behavioral change and education through hygiene awareness sessions, training on safe water practices, menstrual health education, and waste management. We involve local communities in managing and maintaining the resources, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the solutions we implement.

By integrating water access with sanitation efforts, this program not only protects communities from preventable diseases but also enhances their ability to live with dignity and pursue education, livelihood, and a better quality of life.
